Options Counseling

Options Counseling is a free, short-term program offered through the Aging and Disability Resource Consortium of Southeastern MA and Southern MA (ADRC SE SM).  Options Counseling serves elders age 60 and over, persons of any age who have a disability, as well as family members and caregivers.  Options Counselors are available to assist individuals in developing their own personal long-term care plans and connect them to resources, services, and supports that may help them remain independently in the community.

Options Counseling strives to reach consumers along the continuum and places consumers in a position to evaluate their choices, make a well-informed decision, and determine a plan of action that fits their individual needs.  Agencies in the Consortium work collaboratively to ensure the consumer’s plan of action can be carried out and referrals are able to be made to the appropriate agencies. To the consumer, this is a seamless process where No Wrong Door is really All the Right Doors!

Options Counseling can take place in hospitals, nursing facilities, an individual's home, over the telephone-wherever is most convenient for you.
