Area Plan on Aging 2022-2025 / Request for Proposals FFY 2023

LEGAL NOTICE

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: South Shore Elder Services (SSES) is a private, non-profit regional Aging Service Access Point (ASAP) and designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) providing services to the senior residents in Braintree, Cohasset, Hingham, Holbrook, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, and Weymouth. South Shore Elder Services is an Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity (AA/EEO) Agency.

SSES has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Supportive Services Programs (Title IIIB), Medical Access Transportation (MAP) and Evidence-Based Programs (Title IIID). Federal Funds will be awarded for Title III B/MAP/D of the Older Americans Act for FY23- beginning October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023. South Shore Elder Services reserves the option to roll over grants for one additional year. Collaboration with other community agencies is strongly encouraged.

Programs will be funded for services including but not limited to:

  • Legal Services
  • Programs that Reduce Loneliness and Social Isolation such as: transportation, companionship, outreach, dementia-friendly projects and mental health services.
  • Programs that Promote Independence in the Community such a:s minor home repair, seasonal assistance e.g., snow shoveling, In Home Supports and Services and Medical Transportation.
  • Technology such as: Learning & development to provide digital education programs
  • Programs for LGBTQ seniors to provide information resources and supports
  • Evidence-Based Programming such as: Matter of Balance, Enhanced Wellness, and other evidence-based healthy aging programs
  • Dental Services.

South Shore Elder Services reserves the right to reject any and all bids, wholly or in part and to accept proposals in the best interest of the Corporation.  Contracts will be awarded based on quality of service, customer service, competitive rates, and demand for service.

Potential applicants must submit a letter of intent by April 8, 2022.
