Ellie O’Neil, Volunteer Manager

South Shore Elder Services is delighted to announce that Ellie O’Neil has been named Volunteer Manager. Ellie’s enthusiasm, effervescent personality, dedication, vision and desire to serve seniors and people with disabilities has been evident for the 16 years she has been with SSES, 5 of them as the Protective Services Screening Supervisor and Area Agency on Aging Grants Manager. She has been a constant presence in the community as the Co Chair of the Visibility Committee. You have likely seen her on local access TV, heard on radio spots or met her as she has been out across all 11 towns in our catchment area.

Ellie will be coordinating the assessment of Volunteer needs in our growing program. She will be recruiting Volunteers to pack meals, deliver meals as Meals on Wheels Drivers, to act as Friendly Visitors, in the Money Management Program and as Storm Troopers who volunteer to brave Snow Emergencies and ensure meals reach our seniors. She will direct our Corporate Volunteers who act as partners in our communities.

Now is the time to join our more than 411 Volunteers who give varying amounts of their time, ranging from 1 hour to some who spend more than 10 hours a week serving in our communities. Call Ellie at 781-848-3910 extension 327 or through e-mail at volunteer@sselder.org. Ellie will help you find a place that gives you satisfaction and the joy of being on a committed team at work on the South Shore.

Ellie is looking forward to a fantastic Volunteer Luncheon coming up in June and will be bringing her energetic leadership to ensuring South Shore Elder Services can continue to expand services in Braintree, Cohasset, Hingham, Holbrook, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate and Weymouth.
